The JEDM Journal Track provides an opportunity for authors to publish a full-length article in the Journal of Educational Data Mining (JEDM) and present their work at the EDM conference.
We particularly encourage submissions that would benefit from the depth and space of a journal article, including substantial empirical investigations, methodological contributions, theoretical advances, and research that offers broader insights into educational data mining and its applications. Papers should make a clear contribution to the field, supported by rigorous methods, analysis, and discussion of the implications of the findings.
Why submit to the JEDM track?
The track is intended for authors who want to develop and publish their work as a full journal article while retaining the opportunity to present and discuss their findings with the EDM community. Authors whose work is well suited to the conference paper format may prefer the EDM Full Paper Track, while those seeking journal publication without a conference presentation may submit directly to JEDM through its regular submission process.
Papers submitted to the JEDM track undergo the journal’s peer-review process and must meet its publication standards. Accepted articles are published in JEDM rather than the EDM conference proceedings. To be eligible for presentation at EDM, papers must be accepted by the designated conference cutoff date (May 15th). Authors are encouraged to submit early to allow sufficient time for review and revisions.
JEDM Journal Track Papers
Papers submitted to the Journal of Educational Data Mining in the section “EDM 2027 Journal Track” and accepted by 15 May 2027 will be published in JEDM and presented at the conference. Papers accepted after this date will be published in the next available issue.
Submission
JEDM track papers should be anonymized, formatted according to the JEDM guidelines, and submitted to the journal directly at: https://jedm.educationaldatamining.org/index.php/JEDM/about/submissions by selecting the section “EDM 2027 Journal Track” in the corresponding Section box.
Important Dates
Submissions are accepted from November 2026 through January 2027. There are three cut-off deadlines: 15 November 2026, 15 December 2026, and 15 January 2027. At each cut-off deadline, papers are sent for review. The earlier a paper is submitted, the greater the chances are that the review process will be completed and the paper ready for publication in JEDM and presentation EDM 2027.
Papers accepted after 15 May 2027 will be published in the next available issue.
